Desiree Murphy is quickly making a name for herself as an entertainment writer, reporter, host and editor in Hollywood, California. Well-rounded in all areas of the media world, she’s a force both on-camera and behind-the-scenes.
Originally from Rome, New York, Desiree has always had a passion for writing and being in front of the camera. In high school, she was the Editor in Chief of the student newspaper and a sports and news anchor for Rome Free Academy’s broadcasting program. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina, Desiree took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue her dreams of becoming an entertainment journalist. Desiree's interviewed celebrities on TV and movie sets and on some of Hollywood's most notable award show red carpets (including the GRAMMYs, American Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Movie & TV Awards, Kids' Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Awards) and premieres (The Vow, Need for Speed, Smurfs, Justin Bieber: Believe, Katy Perry: Part of Me, The Hunger Games).
In addition to being an on-camera personality for Popstar! on Music Choice, Desiree was also a host for AfterBuzz TV, an online broadcast network with over 20 million weekly downloads created by E! News host Maria Menounos. Desiree hosted the after shows for MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, WEtv's Growing Up Hip Hop, MTV's Are You the One? and the CW’s iZombie.
